Trancy and ethereal. Intended to be an interpretation of a dream that a friend had told me about. Recorded in 1999 when my head wasn't in a very good place. I was tempted to delete the piece altogether, but I changed my mind. Art need not come from good circumstances to be good art. Less

[FKL] Manwë - Midnight Sessions Episode 7

Exclusive LIVE Mix Set from Manwë This month Manwë hits us with a super smooth blend of progressive/trancey goodness. A deceptively soft introduction lulls us into a warm fuzzy state of attentiveness then, with dexterous precision, our FKL Ambassador flips the script from caressing atmospherics to aggressive over-drive. With the likes of Fragma, Veracocha, Black Pearl, and 4 Strings, this ride is balanced with equal parts sugarland dream fantasy ambience and terror-dome pulsing big room bass. Apparently this was a live set done for some very special friends at a birthday celebration, which I would have loved to have experienced in-person. The Foundation presents: Midnight Sessions Episode 7 - June Babies - Manwë -tracklisting- 1. Fragma - Toca Me (Inpetto 2008 remix) 2. Vast Vision pres. Ahmose - Drone (M6 Remix) 3. Veracocha - Carte Blanche (Cosmic Gate Remix) 4. Activa - End of Summer (Original Mix) 5. Black Pearl - Coral Sea 6. Woody van Eyden and Alex M.O.R.P.H feat. Michelle Citrin - Turn it on (Original mix) 7. Abbott and Chambers feat Tiff Lacey - Strange Liaison (Allan ‘o Marshall’s dub mix) 8. 4 Strings - Take Me Away (Into The Night) (Purple Haze Remix) 9. Deep Voices - Your Picture (Robert Nickson remix) 10. Mazzy Star - Into Dust (John O Callaghan’s Deep Dream mix) 11. Ernesto vs. Bastian- Thrill (John O Callaghan remix) 12. After six years of doing this show, I decided it was time to celebr... More
After six years of doing this show, I decided it was time to celebrate by breaking down and buying some new equipment. My main audio desk has been on the verge of its last gasp for some time now, and I’ve finally run out of chewing gum and duct tape. So earlier this week, after a day of staring at my shiny new Yamaha mixer in admiration, I embarked on what I assumed would be only a slightly more complex task than changing a light bulb. Just unplug the cables from the old board, and plug ‘em into the new one, right? Hah! Of course, it turned into a Major Freaking Project, mainly because I was not content to do just that one thing and leave well enough alone. It was more like, “Hmmm, as long as I’m in here anyway I might as well replace this, and that could use upgrading too, and this box really needs to be over here which means I’ve got to build new a new set of cables for it because the old ones aren’t long enough, and…” You get the idea. By the time I was done, I had managed to upgrade (or at least rewire) practically the entire studio. While this is no doubt a Good Thing, as the new setup is much more flexible and (hopefully) reliable than before, it also meant I had to tweak levels and EQ through the entire audio chain … and after listening to this week’s mix I realize it ain’t exactly perfect yet. In particular, the studio mic sounds really muffled and just a tad distorted. But I decided to post it anyway, as I think most of y’all care more about the music (which sounds OK, I think) than my inane babble. Next week’s show should be back to “normal” (relatively speaking), so if you can put up with this small glitch you’ll hear some great new tracks this week by Armin van Buuren, Lange, Solarstone and others. (Full tracklist here.) I’d really like some feedback on how the new equipment sounds to those of you listening at home or in your office. Can you tell any difference in the quality of the music? Does it sound pleasantly tight and punchy, or overly bass-y or compressed? Please drop me an email to star98 (at) gmx (dot) net, or if you’d prefer to stay anonymous, just leave a comment here. Thanks! Until next week, The TranceMaster Less

But wait! There’s more!! Just click the “play” button above, my friends, and prepare to be amazed and astounded, shocked and delighted, perhaps even annoyed and confused! How much would you pay for five hours of great stompin’ tunes like these? A million bucks? $199.95? $2.50? A handful of lint and sixteen cents in loose pocket change? How about abso-fucking-lutely free???!? [Tracklist] Less

Peaceful Dubby Trance-Techno | Bernard Geiger aka Chillheimer is a sound engineer from Berlin. Publishing his music for free through internet data-highways is a political decision which he explains in detail on his artist-website. As a producer he looks on the bright side of life and his “Morning Moon” EP is a smiling blend of Trance-influenced DubTechno. “Dreamy” was the first attribut which came to my mind, while listening to the title-track”Morning Moon” on Chillheimers EP released on Rumpfunk Records. Every sound feels warm, in a good-mood and if you play his tunes in the morning hours after a cheerful Club-Night you will surely catch the hearts of the clubbers. If you aren’t afraid of some Kitsch also the other tracks will “enlighten” you. If you like the sound of Chillheimer, make sure to sneak through his website. Trance-Master | Released a long time ago in 2004 “Another” remains still a classic. Producer Emilson from Heavy Industries Netlabel lifts you up with four tracks build on hypnotic and melodic grooves. No surprises await you on this EP, just pure drifting on a powerful four-to-the-floor bassdrum. Music to enjoy on a sunny sunday afterhour. Emilson named his four tracks simply “Another part I”, “Another part II”, “Another part III” and “Another part IV”. I guess he did so, because all the tracks have the same purpose in mind: Cheerful dancing. Unlike most of the techno-sounds found on Heavy Industries, “Another” awaits you with pure-blooded good old-fashioned Trance-Anthems. Feel ecstatic when the sky opens up in part four to lift you up. Thrilling in its clarity like in the old days! MP3 Trance Music Download Release: Emilsson - Another Netlabel: www.heavy-industries.net Less

Ahem. Unlike last week’s Trance Mix which kicked off very nicely, I must say, our show this week sort of stumbles out of the gate in comparison due to some technical problems with the stupid microphone working in only one stereo channel during the first minute or so of the broadcast. (You may have noticed, this is not a big-budget production here, folks.) However, we decided to leave it in the podcast as-is, because (1) we are possessed of exceptionally high integrity, and felt that we should present the program exactly as it aired, warts and all; (2) we know you just love to hear it when we screw up; (3) more importantly, we were too damn lazy to edit it out before posting it; and (4) we find it oddly amusing to continually refer to ourselves in the third-person-plural. Nevertheless, a speedy recovery was made, and the show quickly settled into its signature blend of funkee riddems and barely coherent yet occasionally entertaining commentary from your host, The Trancemaster. But hey, it’s a pretty decent mix and we’ll even go so far as to suggest that you might be shickled titless by tasty new tracks from Leon Bolier, Mirco De Govia, Airbase, Christopher Lawrence, and more, as evidenced by this week’s tracklist.
