New Delhi FM - “Row By” (Der kleine grüne Würfel)

Deep Hypnotic Techno | The track “Cable Pollution ResultsR... More

Deep Hypnotic Techno | The track “Cable Pollution Results” starts off with a techy chord, slowly filtered and creeping nearer and nearer till the bouncing techno bassdrum starts bounce and to pull us into the track. Truly minimal but melodic New Delhi FM creates one of these huge and hypnotic waves we like to surf through the night on. Except for two tracks at the end, he keeps this concept. The dub-inspired techno music from New Delhi FM is slightly dark, deep and of course minimal in its essence. While listening to simple but bright synthesizer chords we let loose and drift on lots of echoes into the world of “Row By”. Even though you - if you enjoy yourself listening to DubTechno - won’t find new twists in his tracks New Delhi FM has learned his lessons. The artist from Cologne builds huge hypnotic loops and lets us fall into trance. What do we want more? Yes, a warm and melodic arrival! Just listen how the beautiful electronca track “Pharmacy Officers Parade Days” drops us carefully on the ground. Excellent release! How Do You Discover New Music?

How Do You Discover New Music?

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed Pixie gets upset with me when I won’t listen to her favorite music, which is Slim Whitman. I listen to all sorts of different music, but that’s just something I can’t handle for long. Recently, I got turned on to a band named Ratatat , thanks to my friend Mona. So I started playing Ratatat in Firefox using Rhapsody, and it’s great. I’ve yet to find a song of theirs I don’t like. I’d play you something in this video, but I don’t have the rights to. Anyway, as I was listening to this music, I received a list of top five bands that sound similar and I may like. Dosh sounds quite a bit like Ratatat. They combine a variety of instrumentals with excellent lyrics. Talkdemonic may have a weird name, but their music has a great beat to it. Apparently, my speaker setup would be able to take full advantage of what they play. El Ten Eleven has awesome instrumentals, and their percussion stands out from the melody. Blue Man Group is just amazing to watch live. Couch is more of a techno mixed with futuristic sounding band. Steven, I appreciate the recommendation. I listen to pretty much anything and everything. I even like listening to 8-bit sounds! Send along any other recommendations you may have for music I can get into! Elmore Music - New Product! Speed Learning System, Usd $94 Payout! I've just discovered Buzz. I had heard of it before, but never tried it; I moved straight from traditional trackers to Fruity Loops / Audiomulch. But now I think I'm hooked, and this is my first effort in it, a bleepy little beat. Less

Fulfilling two of the Challenges for July: Wildcard (music you hate = techno) and Music (ripped off James Bond Theme riff). Also, going for the trifecta, it's a cappella (June's Style Challenge). And it's still July 31st in some parts of the world, so I think this should be allowed in the door. Less

OrtzRoka: Planets

OrtzRoka: Planets

And now for a head-trip around the planetary systems. From the UK, ... More

And now for a head-trip around the planetary systems. From the UK, experimental electronic duo OrtzRoka has been recently described as ‘half mental techno, half down tempo mint and water’ by Fluokids. I have no earthly idea what that really means although it sounds like a sobering glass of water to the face at the end of a mildly eye glazing headphone session on the summer patio. OrtzRoka cut their teeth DJing, and creating remixes for more established artists such as Simian Mobile Disco, Bloc Party, and Peter, Bjorn & John. They spent several months at the end of last year practicing live sets and working on some tracks for a demo album which you can preview three other tracks from on MySpace (another favorite is “Big City”). PLANETS slowly submerses itself into the nodes of the brain, its alien beats battling back and forth like the creeping ink in the video you are about to witness. To fully appreciate the track PLANETS you really need to view the accompanying video. It was directed by Dan Lowe of Partizan Films, who was nominated for Best New Director at the 2007 CAD Music Video Awards. It’s definitely my pick for best video of the year to date. It’ll blow your mind. Thanks to Scarlett for bringing this to our attention! [cs] DOWNLOAD | SUBSCRIBE Spread It Around: Hide Sites Less

- A totally reconstructed remix of Xillon's Rockmoss, from the album It's Ok To Dance. I didn't write or arrange this, but I have permission to edit and share this remix. The remix was edited/mixed/DJed live in Traktor 2.5 by using two copies of the same track and remixing it with filters, loops and cue points. Visit Ad Noiseum for samples from the full album. It's good stuff. Less
